FANUC’s powerful iRVision system offers the latest in 2D and 3D robotic vision capabilities for any automated robotic application.
Available for integration with all FANUC robots, iRvision eliminates the need for an external vision PC by integrating the hardware straight into the robot controller, making it easier and more affordable to apply vision to a FANUC robot. (Works on R-30iA and R-30iA Mate controllers).
Packaged complete with integrated LED light source for adjustable lighting conditions, operating iRVision is as simple as loading the vision software option and connecting a camera directly to the Main CPU Board. From here, the user can immediately add a vision process to the robotic application.
The FANUC R-30iA Controller comes standard with iRVision hardware and is ideal for all applications thanks to its:
- Ease of use
- Quad processing capabilities
- 2D multiview vision processing
- Visual line tracking
- 3DL vision
- and many more…
EASE OF USE
- Fast and easy set-up
- Easy application building
- Integrated instruction set
- Fully integrated in Robot Controller
(no PC/WINDOWS needed)
FOUR PROCESSESS POSSIBLE
- Normal 2D Vision process
- Depalletising 2½D Vision process
- 2D Multiview Vision process
- Visual Line Tracking 2D Vision process
AUTO EXPOSURE MODE
Light fluctuation compensation
CALIPER FUNCTION
iRVision can check distance between two lines
HISTOGRAM TOOL
The Histogram Tool visualises possible grey scales around the piece. The goal is to recognise if there is enough free space around the piece for the gripper. This avoids parts to be broken and reduces costs.
DEPALLETISING 2½D VISION PROCESS
This Vision Process Type supports a calculation of a Z-height and some special depalletising functions. The new functions are also supported.
GRAPHICAL AND VIDEO DISPLAY OF ROBOT PROGRAMS
- Motion trace displayed during testing
- AVI video file output possible
- Graphical output of results for quick documentation and decision making
2D MULTIVIEW VISION PROCESS
This Vision process type supports the very accurate detection of huge parts. The vision information of two cameras is used to find the correct position. The setup and usage is very easy and fast. The new functions are also supported.
VISUAL LINE TRACKING
It is possible to use up to four single robots in a visual line tracking application. These Robots are connected to only one Vision System.
ENHANCED PROSESS SOLUTION
Visual Line Tracking provides robotic process solutions for:
- Sorting non-fixtured parts on moving conveyors
- Picking up non-fixtured parts on moving conveyors
- Placing parts onto fixtures located on moving conveyors
- Assembling components
3DL VISION
3DL Vision is used for reliable part location and orientation, regardless of variations in part size and occlusions. It allows Bin Picking and Panel Picking.
- Recognition of parts position ( X,Y,Z ) and orientation ( W,P,R )
- 100% FANUC Product ( Hardware and Software )
VISION SHIFT
VISION SHIFT is a help to setting up spot and arc welding systems in order to compensate some position gaps between the configuration as shown in offline programming programs and the real configuration. Before VISION SHIFT, those gaps had to be calibrated by manual teaching on the floor.
- VISION SHIFT utilises a 3D positioning capability of its vision sensor to measure the gap and calibrates the robot program automatically.
- VISION SHIFT also has a capability to automatically set tool center points (TCP) and arc torch tips which used to be set by manually and carefully operating the robot.
- It usually only takes about 30 minutes for VISION SHIFT to measure and calibrate robot programs with high-precision and non-contact measurements, instead of hours when done manually. VISION SHIFT thus offers a significant reduction in total set-up time.
- VISION SHIFT provides also a coordinated pair setting. Perfect for the best possible setup of a Dual-, Triple-, and Quadarm ARC Welding Application.
- VISION SHIFT provides also a Vision Mastering Function to remaster FANUC robots after motor changing, etc… (this is only available with iRVision and not V-500iA)
FANUC M-710iC/50 robot with Integrated iRVision
1st Operation – The FANUC M-710iC/50 uses the iRVision to pick up the automotive knuckle to simulate accurate, repeatable de-flashing or grinding. The knuckle is then placed on the red disk and spun by the robot to show random pick up locations, as the robot has no control over the stop position. No external lighting is required even as the built in LED light is controlled through the robot program, to create the correct lighting condition and increase the reliability of the vision system.
2nd Operation – In this operation the M-710iC/50 uses the iRVision to pick and place different sprockets. The camera identifies the sprocket on the conveyor and then aligns the sprocket to fit through the appropriate profile on the conveyor.
